Reviews
A fairly important artificial dam that flows from the Nabari River to the Yodogawa River. There is quite a difference in elevation, and perhaps because there is a high school there, there were quite a few groups of bicycles and cars when I visited in the morning, and it was part of a community road, so please be careful when going there. You can see autumn leaves, cherry blossoms, and other scenery like this.
post spring vibes....
I came here thinking I could see the autumn leaves. It's quite a large dam and just looking at it is spectacular. There is a parking lot, but please be careful as the road above the dam is narrow. The view from the observation deck is nice 😆 There aren't many people so it's calming. It would have been nice if the leaves had turned a little more autumnal. For dumb cards, ring the intercom and ask for a card, and a staff member will assist you.
Turn south at the center of Nabari City on R165 and enter the mountain.
It's not that far, but the road isn't very good.
The scale of the dam is large and the dam lake (Lake Shorenji) is beautiful.
While there are many dams whose dams are closed to traffic, this one is free to pass and seems to be closely connected to the local life.
A dam where bicycles pass over the dam (school route?).
It's a pretty good looking arch type dam.
There seems to be a school near here, and high school students seem to be commuting there on sports bicycles such as cross bikes. Everyone is fine.
Also see the monument, which looks like the tail fin of a large fish.

Shorenji Dam is an arch-type concrete dam built on the Shorenji River, a tributary of the Nabari River in the Yodogawa River system, managed by the Japan Water Agency.
Among dam enthusiasts, he is said to be in charge of the "Blue" of "Kizugawa Sentai Gorendam" because it is the "Blue" of "Shorenji"...
It was the first dam constructed by the Water Resources Development Corporation (currently Japan Water Resources Agency) from the beginning. It is an arch-type dam, but more specifically it is called a "central overflow type asymmetrical parabolic unequal thickness arch dam."In Japan, there is Shorenji Dam and Fukui Prefecture. This is a dam with a rare structure, with only two examples of this being the Managawa Dam.
It's located a little off National Route 165, so it's easy to access by car.
(Although the road is a little narrow...)
Mie Kotsu buses also run from Nabari Station on the Kintetsu Osaka Line to the dam.
●Purpose of the dam

・N: Maintenance of normal flow rate of rivers (unspecified water use)

・W: Water supply

●Dam lake name
Lake Shorenji
●Top passage
It is passable as it is treated as a general road.
However, there is a lot of traffic.
(Road width: Approx. 1 regular car, 2 waiting areas on the way to the top)
*Large vehicles except buses are prohibited.
There is a sidewalk, but it's quite narrow.
●Parking lot/rest area
There are parking lots and toilets on both sides of the dam.
There is also an observation deck on the left bank side.
*Nothing can be seen from the observation deck that can be climbed further above the observation deck ()
●Dum card (official)
Dam cards are distributed at the management office on the right bank side.
*8:45-17:15 (including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays)
Visited to collect dumb cards. I was approached by the dam's patrolling staff who stayed late at night, but apparently the reason they were patrolling was because there were a lot of people getting ◯. It was a spectacular view when 🌈 occurred after the rain ✨ …
Shooting date 2023.07.04 around 8am
It was a weekday and there were hardly any cars passing by.
There was a sidewalk so I could see the dam from there.
There is a parking lot ahead where you can park several cars, and there is also an observation deck.
